Steve Mabry

Publisher/Owner

Steve and his family have lived in Crested Butte, Colorado for the last 26 years and put a large emphasis on playing outside to maintain a healthy and happy outlook on life. Steve’s thirst for adventure has found him on the first-ever, government-approved mountain bike descent from the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro (19,341ft.), fly fishing the flats of Christmas Island, exploring high alpine Himalayan peaks and mountain biking in the backcountry of Crested Butte, Colorado.

Chris Hanna

Publisher/Owner

A wildly talented schedule keeper and multi-tasker, Chris Hanna has been on the front lines of the graphic design, art direction, and printing/publishing industry for 26 years.  While his work ethic is ironclad, he also believes deeply that to work hard, one must play hard, and that balance is the secret sauce to his life. Chris is passionate about his mountain lifestyle and can be found on the high alpine singletrack all summer, then gliding on nordic skis and searching for powder turns when the snow flies.

Brooke MacMillan

Editor

Brooke feels like a bit of a bookish wonk amidst Crested Butte’s hardcore culture, but she delights in getting to write about all the ways people live (and slay) in the valley. She holds a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Nonfiction from Goucher College, is the founder of the Mountain Words Festival, and is a former co-executive director of the Crested Butte Center for the Arts. Previously, Brooke worked for the Turkish Film Channel in Istanbul, Turkey (where she also starred in incredibly minor roles in Turkish Soaps), and she spent several years living in northern Scotland, hanging out with older people in researching her book in progress, Before They Go, which explores aging in our global context. She and her husband, Jason, are raising two Buttian girls who will undoubtedly out-slay their parents.

Keitha Kostyk

Designer

Most write bios that start with eating, sleeping, and breathing all things design.’ Well, that’s not entirely the case for Keitha Kostyk. While pretty darn talented, creative, and hard-working, Keitha spends an equal amount of time looking for motivation and inspiration in this ever-changing landscape. Through adventurous travel to remote corners of the world and right here in the backyard of Crested Butte, Keitha brings a joie de vivre to all aspects of work and play.
