Recently Patagonia published Luke’s “Underwear story” on its blog, The Cleanest Line. In that story, Luke reveals his new aspirations of modeling underwear (having observed the models on some packaging). He then relates some unusual experiences involving his new red Patagonia undies, a potential lady friend, and a surreal hot springs scene with a Lynyrd Skynyrd soundtrack that “feels like the beginning of a horror movie.”

The blog post opens with a photo of Luke, adorned with blond wig and hot pink sweat suit, dangling from his climbing gear on a pitch at Joshua Tree. And it ends with Luke’s appeal to Patagonia to give him a call should they have an opening for someone to pose in the skivvies that have seen him through such strange times.

Well, not only did Patagonia post this piece of writing, but Luke’s friends followed up by starting a petition to get him an actual undies-modeling gig. The petition link is in the comments section of the blog.

I have no idea whether Patagonia staffers respond to popular appeals when it comes to selecting their lingerie fashionistos. But if you want to lend Luke a vote and have a bit of fun, you can join the dialogue at www.thecleanestline.com/2012/01/the-underwear-story.html
