Thinking summer...while the snow flies

My goal this week is to polish the story list for the summer issue. We have some engaging stories lined up already.

Here's a sampler: a quirky inside look at our mountain-man subculture; a legendary Western adventure in the Black Canyon; a crusty New York immigrant who has turned into an animal-rescue softie; the happy childhood mystery of the turquoise painted rocks; and theories concerning the selective addiction of fly-fishing.

We'd also like to chronicle the updating/remodeling of a historic home in Crested Butte. Got any candidates? Have a character you'd like to see profiled? Heard any great Crested Butte stories you want to pass on?

As always, we like stories that go beyond the superficial. The Crested Butte Magazine isn't a guide or tourbook; we want to look deeper into the heart of an amazing place. Send your ideas for summer. Then go ski some of this phenomenal snow.
